Derrick L. Carter is a DJ born of the second wave of Chicago, is said to have made contact with the discs at the age of 9 years during family gatherings. In '87 he released his first single "Love Me Right" and two years later came the turn of "Symbols and Instruments" as Mood. Thanks to Felix Da Housecat and Cajmere manages to make his way to Chicago and began working with the Organic label that produces a variety of singles and an album as Sound Patrol, whose name was given in '95 the band with whom he worked. Derrick also founded two labels Blue Cucaracha and Classic and the Tortoise. Recently he has worked to MoS for the session of 2005 for "Choice: A Collection Of Classics."
